In the navigation menu a choice will appear reading "create content". Posting anything on this site starts with clicking on create content. Depending on your user role, there are several types of content you can create. Pages can be edited after you post them. If you have permission to edit a specific page, an edit button appears at the top of the page.

1. Blog postings: Each user has their own blog into which they can post writings. A blog is essentially a sequential list of writings, where the most recent writing is displayed at the top of the list.
2. Book pages: In the software that runs this site, a "book" is a group of pages arranged together. The idea is something like a book, but not really. This page, for example, is part of the "book" titled Contribute. There are two ways to add book pages, the most obvious being the "add child page" at the bottom of each book page. You can also use the create content menu choice.
3. Forum postings: The forums are message boards where people are expected to chit-chat with each other. As you browse through the forums you will see a link titled "post new forum topic" which lets you post a message to the forums.
4. Comments: Any registered user of healership.com can make comments on any page on healership.com. You will see a link at the bottom of the page marked "add new comment"
5. Website: This site has a links directory, and adding website content adds links to the directory.

In each of the content types there is a Title which is the text posted at the top of the page. Select a good title, because that's the main thing people will see before reading the posting.

The member profile is your place to describe who you are, what you're into, what you do, etc. It helps the others using healership.com to know who you are. The member profile feature is accessed through the "user list" choice in the navigation menu. Each user has a member profile, and all postings or comments links to the users profile.

To edit your profile, click on the my account link in the navigation menu. On that page click on the edit button at the top of the page. There are either two or three sections to the profile.

You are initially shown account settings which includes your name, email address and password. If you make a change click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. You may upload a picture, simply click the Browse button and use it to select a picture from your computer. The picture must be relatively small. Once you've selected a picture click the Submit button.

This page is meant to track features which we desire to have on this site. If you have a desire which is not listed here, feel free to add a comment to this page describing your desire.

This site includes news aggregation.  What's happening is the software reads RSS feeds from several sites, and adds any new postings on those feeds into the aggregation.  This lets us track interesting news from across the Internet.

This web site is meant to support awareness of Brennan Healing Science as a recognized and known field of energy healing. The approach is through giving space for Brennan Healing Science Practitioners to write about their work, and jointly create a presence on the Internet. Together we can talk more loudly than we can alone.

Brennan Healing Science Practitioners are graduates of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. BBSH offers two four-year programs in teaching energy healing. The program is offered in teaching programs based in Florida, Europe and in Japan.

For this site I'm using Drupal which has some powerful features. One of them is a way to "aggregate" news or blog sites so that summaries of articles posted elsewhere get listed on this site.

The idea is to have this site bring together the BBSH-related content regardless of whether it appears on this site or on other sites.

The technique is a data format known as RSS (Really Simple Syndication) which allows a web site to publish a summary listing of (some of) the content on their site. As new content gets posted to the site, the RSS file is updated and other sites or software can poll the RSS file to see if there are changes. It's widely used in the blogging world, and when you use news aggregation software it makes scanning the morning news a lot simpler (for example).

This is exciting, to finally start something I've been dreaming of for years.

I graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in 2001. This makes me certifiable, as a Healer that is. My healing training goes back a bit further actually, to around 1995.

Most of that time I've had an idea that I've been fostering for awhile. That with the growth of the Internet, that there is a spiritual purpose to the existance of the Internet. Specifically, that the Internet can be used to foster the growth of spiritual awareness and perhaps to reduce suffering in the world.

The idea is that we, as individuals, can now individually speak to a world audience. For example, in 1995-6 I was taking Reiki training and was very seriously interested in Reiki. At that time I spent a little time learning how to write web pages, and threw together a site that lovingly described Reiki. With a little more work the site became The Reiki Page, holding the #1 spot in most search engines for the keyword "Reiki".
